The Heartbreak of Sandy--Monk 36 Anyone?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1988-Monk-36-/321129247300?forcev4exp=true#v4-39

Storms can be cruel-- tens of thousands of wrecked boats.

Here is a Monk 36 that has seen better days.

Wow. Very sad. I wonder if there's really a market for such a thing.

If the price and situation is right someone will pick it up and bring it back. Some folks like long term projects and have the space, time and skills to complete them.

Many though turn into permanent yard art and never complete them. I've seen a few of those too.

As a (recent) former Monk 36 owner, that is sad to see indeed.

Boats in this shape should bring no more than salvage. Busted sailboats tend to do better because of the price of lead.
