Looks interesting.

The real issue is how much the service costs.

The reason I went with the Delorme InReach was the monthly cost for service.

And I was willing to sacrifice having less data, voice for much less money.

In hindsight, one of my better decisions.
In fact, one of my lessons learned was that following the weather turned out to be a bigger waste is time.

So, I'll stick to the system that got me here

I think it costs about $800 them service depends on who you get from. Still up in the air on this one. A frieand had the InReach too, which worked good for texting, but the Spot did a better job and pinpointing location....

Maybe I'm missing something. What exactly does this gizmo do that a latest model sat phone can't? With the exception of setting up wifi calls perhaps, and updating Facebook.
