Garmin Blue Chart Question

Does the Garmin Blue Chart app provide a "headline" from the vessel icon to show the vessels current direction? I use this when navigating narrow channels.

Thanks in advance

Dave

Garmin Blue Chart Question

Oh wait, I just thought he has asking about the icon pointing in the right direction. Duh!

I didn't know it would do that line thingy. How do I make that happen?

Yes, BUT, if you have strong wind from the side the boat can get blown sideways out of the channel and the line will hold the same heading. Sometimes it can be a little disceptive. You can use a crab angle into the wind and hold course but it still looks a little funny with the line pointing clearly to one side of the channel. With wind and current acting on the boats heading I dont find it to usefull. BTW, nice bote

Just to double check, are these instructions for Blue Chart app on an iPad or on an actual chart plotter? I am looking for this configuration on an iPad app...

Sorry, I have 3 Garmin plotters on board, so no Ipad. I missed the app part in the OP.
