The Admiral wants the galley table removed (We never sit way down there to eat, always on the sundeck) and a counter top installed around the area on top of the benches. With cabinets or drawers under the counter top. This will give her room to walk where the table is and have counter space. Our Marine Trader has this adjustable table with folding sides and is nice but there is little usable counter space in the galley. Ideas? Pictures? Teak table for sale!

Thanks for all,
Sonny

"Teak table for sale!"

Too late the fine GB folding teak table went to a gent restoring his Banks.

Drawers are easy today as there are so many models of glides made. Use the deep style that will allow the drawer to open all the way.

One hassle is drawer locks are required to keep the drawers closed underway.

The push button ones are great , as one glance can see if you are RFS (ready for sea).

Be sure to use only drawer pulls that will not rip flesh when fallen against.

The SS gentle curved ones seem fine.

A previous owner of our President 41 removed the dinette and extended the galley into that area. In place of one bench they added a large pantry with counter top. In place of the other bench they added a laundry. We recently remolded the laundry with a new front-loading washer and added a couple more drawers for storage. We never had a dinette and, to be honest, don't miss not having one. We are live-aboards and the current configuration is much more to our liking.
