Fuel polishing--dirty diesel fuel tanks

I'm not meaning to target the refineries, but more the distribution network. Lots of refineries feeding into independent distributors. The more that handle it, the less accountability.

Although base stocks may have quite a bit to do with asphaltene precipitation.

This superb idea should not be limited to just fuel or water fills, stanchions and any thru deck hardware will only leak when the height of the mounting pad is exceeded.

Not often in rain , or coastal cruising.
 
As mentioned in an earlier post, having to drop anchor at the mouth of a sand barred entrance to the channel, then crawling down into the hot engine compartment to R&R the Raycor Filter is something you only do once in your boating career, if you are half smart. 6' waves pitching the bow makes the filter change an Olympic Sport. I would have paid the $2K in a nanosecond that day. Captain Ron has spoken!
