Lifted this from a bus board and thought it might work for some boating uses,,

Essentially what is OEM on the under floors of these coaches is sound deadener or undercoating. It is still available but I now use a slightly different approach to floor sealing as I believe is is a greatly under appreciated restoration function. I use this new variation of sealant that a black spray on material and you see it advertised on the TV with the guy putting a screen door into his boat and spraying this stuff on the screen to show that it is waterproof. I get it at the Home Depot and is it sometimes offered as 2 cans for $9.99 but not always. (at least you don't have to pay separate shipping and handling if you decide to get the 2nd can) This product leaves a good build out on the wood, remains pliable and seals the wood against any moisture, road damage, and noise.
