Fairhaven 34

Hi all,
just wondering if anyone had any info, history, experience or opinion on Fairhaven Boats trawler-style cruiser?
This particular one in question is a 1975 model 34.
I've only ever seen one other in Australia so they don't seem to have been too popular over here.

Thanks for any insight!

Cheers,
Ryan.

Welcome aboard. Are you looking at it or already own it. I have not heard of them. Let us know if you are going to buy it...

Thank you for the welcome!

Considering purchase. We've had a visual look already and having it pulled out of the water for us and a surveyor to have a more serious inspection tomorrow.

Repowered last year with a new 4 cyl Perkins. Interior refit nearly complete (basic interior, nothing fancy which suits us just fine). A few bits of decorative work to complete but mechanically all done.

Full walk-around style boats in this size are not overly common here. . at least without paying the Grand Banks/Clipper tax.
Sports fisher/planing boats are far more common in the 30-36 foot range here.
Hopefully the hull passes the out of water inspection.

Thank you!
I have found very little information on the brand.
The broker believes the hulls to be USA-built, and then fitted out by owner/broker/boat yard at time of sale.
Unsure if this took place here (Australia) or elsewhere.

She's not as pretty as a GB32 (a friend has GB32-470 that I've spent a lot of time on) but has all the benefits of the GB over the more common Riviera/Mariner boats we have here in that size range.

Full walk around decks, nice open-feeling cabin, good-sized flybridge, and economical displacement-speed cruising which is how we like to go boating.

Nitrolx,I found it online. It`s in Brooklyn where we berth, maybe Long Isl Marina, hard to tell. You haven`t so I won`t, post the link.
It looks quite good.I think the decks have been done, a plus. Price reasonable. ? negotiable. Decent size cockpit. Expect inexpensive cruising with the Perkins. Hope the survey works out.

That's her Bruce.
Sitting on Wharf St Marina although I think the plan is to pluck her out of the water at Fenwicks. Is that where you are? I think we saw your boat when we went for our first quick look at the Fairhaven.
I have only ever seen reference to one other Fairhaven; it was in Church Point a few years back and sold. Never even seen another one mentioned.

We are on Dolphin, first marina after you turn onto Brooklyn Rd.A bit "rustic" but the widest berths in Brooklyn and nice neighbours. Next is Brooklyn Marina, Fenwicks, and Long Isl./Wharf St. Fenwicks are good, they hold it in slings while the surveyor does his work. I`ve never seen another Fairhaven. Looks a good size economical for cruising boat, to enjoy the Hawkesbury.
And,Welcome Aboard!

Thanks!
If it all goes well, she'll be making the trip north and be based in Port Stephens. Plenty of cruising to be done on the Port, and up in to the Myall Lakes.

That's the plan anyway!
