After working in Richmond CA and watching a huge fleet of these things come out for class every Wed night... I had to have one. It took me a bit to find one in good shape, but I now have my own little El Toro.
This one is an early boat from Smith (https://www.duckworksmagazine.com/07/designs/pelican2/index.htm).

Its in fair shape, I plan on a fresh coat of yellow paint and varnish.
Thinking of naming it " Little Yellow Jacket" PBR Bull from the early 2000's.

Cant wait till spring !

I Think the little boat is great and one day it might grow up to be a trawler.

I learned to sail in one of these in ... a long time ago.
Small, seaworthy in light to medium chop, and lots of fun.

My first boat was an El Toro. I built it from plans when I was 12 years old in Junior High shop class.

I have good memories of sailing all over American Lake in it.

First time I ever sailed was when a family friend turned me loose in one of those in Big Lagoon off NAS Pensacola, circa 1960.

That boat is about a cute as a boat could ever hope to be. I can see a lot of fun in your future.

I grew up with a 9' rowboat but it had a covered, pointed bow. From 5 years old I spent every summer day rowing it, then got a motor at age 7, then a Sailfish at about age 11.

Here's kind of what the rowboat looked like...
