Diesel Class

Can anybody out there comment on the Diesel Engine class that is offered at the Trawler Fest in Stuart Florida? I am very familiar with I/O maintenance and repair but new to diesel power plants.

Haven't been to Stuart but presume the Trawler Fest at Bay Bridge Marina was analogous. I found Steve & Nigel to be very informative and entertaining also. I too had no diesel knowledge -the 2 day class was a perfect intoduction. I'm not ready to start tearing the heads off my JD'S but at least I now understand how they run, and what each part is/does so I can do basic maintenence and troubleshooting.

Buy an old Mercedes diesel and drive it for a while. Get one without a computer. Change some filters, adjust the valves, basic maintenance. Take the injectors apart and look at them. Get your hands dirty but wear your rubber gloves.

Swap lies with these guys for a while:
