Photos are always good, so it's time to bring this back. Here are a few shots from my delivery trip this summer when I took over care of the boat (Stamford, CT on Long Island Sound -> Rochester, NY on Lake Ontario). If anyone wants to see more, I can post the link to the full album.
Leaving Stamford behind once we had enough daylight to run up on plane (after starting out slowly from a 5am departure):
Passing Execution Rocks Light:
Looking forward:
Turning into the Harlem River:
Hell Gate Bridge:
Glancing back as we pass under the new Tappan Zee:
Ok... You can pass already (and good thing he did, as I lost the port trans and fell off plane rather un-gracefully about 5 minutes after this):
Passing the Bear Mountain Bridge after a few days off for transmission repairs:
Time for our first lock:
Almost time to depart Schenectady the next morning:
More locks to do:
Failed button on my trim switches, so had to do until I could get a replacement at the end of the trip:
Morning mist:
Time to go slow for a while:
Crossing Oneida Lake:
Interesting boats seen in Oswego:
Taking spray on Lake Ontario:
And all tucked in after arrival in Rochester:
