At first I thought of the "love bugs" that smash into your windshields in the spring down South. Then it reminded me of a Pitt maneuver the 5-0 uses when someone refuses to pull over. Maybe both crews were snoozing?

Looks like the large vessels bow got to close to the smaller ones stern and was pulled into it.
Was that the proper "overtaking on your port" whistle?

Well, it didn't work very well.No but it certainly was the proper signal considering the circumstances.
I wonder if the little guy was autonomous.

The original (longer) video first published a year or so ago showed preceding events. The sips were still a significant distance apart with BECK closing on the other ship like on rail, with no visible change in course or speed.
BTW, I've tried to find the original video online but no luck. Strange it had vanished ... I guess it was removed/sealed as an evidence.
