Captain Runs Aground - Runs Away

Might interest those of you that transit this area of N Cal. I did fish this area years ago and we did drift while we slept, but usually 20+ miles offshore and out of the steamer lanes.
From a former fisherman's point of view, stupid, probably not really a fishing captain, boat is very run down even by fishing standards.

Mr. L. The press reports the name of the vessel as "Verna A II" but I clearly see the name "Keep Off". Seems like the perp wasn't the only one giving false information...

Especially when the vodka swilling captain was "asleep" and didn't wake up even when the boat started rolling around heavily at the edge of the surf zone.

More than one has run it right up on the beach.....asleep or worse...

I have responded to at least a half dozen with assistance towing...can't re enter how many in the USCG.....

Something tells me when they complete the inspection of the boat, there may well be additional charges. Plus he had a warrant out and was on probation, perhaps related.
