They operate gasoline-powered vessels, no?

Some are diesel, some a gasoline. No word yet on this one.

Umm let me think? Gasoline I bet.

Most likely gas powered but it's an unusual situation where the explosion occurred at a point other than during or after refueling.

Keep us posted on this if you can Al.

The explosion is just very unusual. You don't see many and generally it's not sudden like that but it's within a fire that you see first. Having gotten out there and pulled up to a boat and then had this happen is just strange. I'll be anxious to see the findings of cause too. I suspect there will be two causes, the flame/fire and the accelerant.

Outboard

Up by me they use ancient aluminum outboards. Gas leak, spark , lgnition. Lucky they weren't killed. I just bought a ski boat that had a leaking fuel tank. The seller had to know but didn't mention it. First time I filled the tank it was obvious I had a problem
Turned out to be a gasket under the sender. There was a half inch gap that had been missing for a long time. The seller had been using the boat like that with his family. People just don't relalize how dangerous gasoline is. L
