I'm only a few chapters in but I am very much enjoying "North to the Night" by Alvah Simon.

Its about a lifelong sailor who wants to sail to the arctic and spend the winter. It deals with not only the boating aspects of the journey, but the culture of the inuits, his relationship with his wife, what defines a person and more. If anyone's looking for a nautical tale, I think you'd enjoy this.
