Actually there are only 3 rules.

1.The captain shall make all rules when and as necessary.

2.The captain is always right.

3. If the captain is wrong, see rule 2.

I used to have a multi tool with a knife blade on my belt most of the time. Came in handy many times. TSA took it. thanks for reminding me to buy a new one.

Rule #1 - The captain is always right.
Rule #2 - if the captain is wrong, refer to rule #1
Rule #3 - Keep the water out.
Rule #4 - If the water gets in, get it out as quickly and reliably as possible.
Rule #5 - Invitees must bring more beer than they will consume.
Rule #6 - Don't try to "help" unless the captain asks.
Rule #7 - Don't touch any knobs, switches or instruments.
Rule #8 - Persons other than the Captain and Admiral are allowed to clean the boat.
Rule #9 - Have fun.
