This is probably my favorite picture of a boat (old steamer shot during a sailing-event):

Nice looking rudder-mechanism here (restored fishing vessel):

The owner of "YOGI" proved a good sense of humor with it's boat name:

Our replica pirate ship in Tampa. Its never under sail. Its engines are its only propulsion.

While in Newport several years ago, we didn't realize we were berthed near Shamrock, one of the original 1930s J-boats. We arrived at our boat, a 76-foot Alden ketch, very late and couldn't see much of anything, except anchor lights in the harbor and a very high red light that I took to be a TV tower on shore. With the dawn, I realized I had been looking at Shamrock's anchor light atop its 160-foot mast.
And on the distinct other end of the spectrum, our skiff just launched at Kiawah Island.

Of the memorable boats at the Eggemoggin Reach Regatta quite a few years back, in addition to "lesser" boats such as Whitehawk and Ticonderoga, were both Shamrock and Endeavour, Endeavour then being owned by Elizabeth Myer, who also was managing Shamrock for the Museum of Yachting of Newport.
The Myer's family owns an island near us and it was quite a sight to see Endeavour's mast sticking up over the spruce trees from the other side of the island. A friend who owns Brooklin Boat yard got to sit on a chair on the aft end of Endevour's wide "Park Avenue" 60+ foot long boom swung out on a broad reach with Endeavour hitting 17 kts. What a rush!

Very cool! We saw Endeavour under sail while poking around Ft. Adams a few years ago. Absolutely breathtaking.

It has engines?? When I was on it back in the late 80's (good times) it was pushed everywhere by the tug (behind it in pic).
Engines would have subjected it to many regulations and inspections the a barge doesn't have. Plus it's way to much fun to mess with having to
actually be responsible on board for anything.

Thanks Kevin. It has been a challenge at times, especially when working with the Washington State DNR.

Yep, they are at Shelter Cove Harbour which is Moonstruck's second home. The Holiday is a dolphin cruise boat that will charter for special events. Capt. Hook is a head boat for daily fishing trips. They have both been there for years.
I have often looked at Holiday with an eye for what it would take to make a yacht out of it. It would probably be better to start from scratch. Both boats are an asset to the harbor as they create a lot of activity.
Did you see the Crabbie II. I love that boat. It goes out with a load of kids that each have a line to catch blue crabs. The kids are so excited.
Shelter Cove is a wonderful place. We will probably be back in a few months.

Indeed ... the warm weather and nice sunset helped to like it even more. Unfortunately I have not noticed Crabbie II other than in some marketing pictures. A nice place ... we'll be back.

Here's a link to Holiday and CrabberJ II. Those kids crabbing have a great time.

Sport Crabbing! Lol.
That's a pretty good idea actually-- crabbing day trips.
We used to catch crabs off the boat dock when we were kids. We would spend hours doing that during the summer at my parents bay shack at Port Alto Tx. I'm sure my parents were thrilled to be able to give us some string and a package of chicken necks and not have to worry about us for the rest of the afternoon.
