We sometimes discuss if a given trawler is suitable for blue water or near coastal voyages. Here is an example of one who isn't so capable. The pic was posted on the Downeaster forum and is the result of trying to run the Oregon Inlet in a heavy nor'easter.

This is a lobster boat style hull with a glassed plywood superstructure. Maybe this contributed to the damage and a production molded fiberglass cabin would have faired better. But also look at the plexiglass that busted in its frame. That can happen to most coastal trawlers when a 12' wall of green water hits them.
