Welcome aboard, if I missed you. IMO, pretty well
any power boat show is worth attending particularly if it's an "in water" show. You can go aboard and at least see a wide variety of designs and layouts, some of which you may or may not like. There are also the shore-side vendors of gadgets and "stuff". Lots of fun for you and the Mrs.
Boat models may have changed in 10-15 years so that would not be
my main reason for attendance.
The first question I would ask of you is "What do you want the boat to be to you?" Weekend trips, close by? Extended vacations (1-6 mos)? Live aboard? Maybe a "trawler" isn't the best fit for you.
