Best Canister Life Raft?
Finally time to get a life raft on the boat, what would everyone recommend based on the following, note I have limited experience or knowledge of current rafts/systems.
-4 to 6 people capacity (usually just 3)
-Mostly cruising the pacnw with some trips to Alaska and maybe Hawaii in 2 years.
-Big plus if the canister can attach to the rails or be out of the way
-Would prefer a longer service interval.
-Offshore versus coastal, is there something in-between? Whats the major difference?
Thanks
Arthur

Have a look at the Revere six person life raft.
You will need to decide if you want a coastal raft for the PNW and Alaska, where recovery is near, or ocean crossing for Hawaii. Two different applications.

Is there any downside to an offshore one other than cost?

Purchased a 6 person Revere coastal, with frame and shell.
Purchased a coastal since I anticipate being plucked within 12 hours based on EPRIB activation.
Nice set up and appears easy to manually deploy
Piece of mind.
Best money I ever spent and hope to never use!!!

In the PNW, I would also have survival suits, and probably get them before I’d get a raft.

Agreed, everyone has one but the dog. The dog might appreciate a raft that she hopefully never uses
