42’ raw alum hulls available in FL

Saw these on Yachtsalvage.com. Originally slated for off shore crew boats with big diesel twins but could be fitted out your way. Props, rudders & shafts included. Five units.

Not interested BUT any guesstimates of what one might go for? Are we talking $10K or $100K?

Depends. Would you like one, two, or all five?

I think it would be a fun project if you’ve got money to throw at it.
What do 400 hp diesels cost these days, 50 / 60 grand each?
100K to make an interior and paint? A little more?
I’m thinking you shouldn’t pay a lot more than the price of the aluminum for the hull.
Could work out nicely.

Sounds right Walt. I'm sure they can be had for a lot less than that.

The manufacturer is in Palmetto FL, and they made a bunch of these. Used to pass by every week or so when I lived in the area, and they seemed to always have half a dozen or more in the works. Not sure if these were built on speculation, or if an order got cancelled. Most went to the offshore oil rig companies, but I did see some outfitted for patrol vessels for various countries.

These setups look like patrol vessels to me. Probably cancelled,so the builder made some money on these and prior boats.

I'm actually surprised that some of the smaller Pilot associations with protected water routes haven't gobbled them up.
