41' PT Trawler

I should have a signed contract on a 41' PT Europa located in Maine. Plans are to remove the obsolete TV-540 Perkins 320 hp and repower the boat with lower HP engine when I get it back to NC. I'm thinking about either a 6BT 210 Cummins or a 3208-210 Cat. Anyone have any Pros and cons on either engine. What would you guys repower with??

Welcome to the forum .I remember a boat here in Australia it was a Police boat with twin TV-540 Perkins 320 hp they ran like sewing machines smooth as as silk . As far as preference they all do the same thing .My preference would be the engine that is easiest to retrofit with the least modification

Overall I've heard good things about Cat. I would just stay away from 435s or higher. Lots of horror stories with those everywhere.
