We are in the final stages of getting things done and organized to head down the coast from Seattle to San Diego and then on to La Paz and beyond. Having boated in BC and Alaska the last several seasons we have the usual shrimp and crab pots with lines, floats, weights, etc. Does anyone know if there is any comparable use of this equipment once we get to Mexico and Central America? I presume not as I've not read of anyone involved in such activities. I know as a kid living in FL we shrimped in an entirely different manner. If there is no practical use for this stuff when south I'll have to figure out how to get rid of it. Thanks for your input.

We brought a crab ring and crab pot to Mexico. We never used them. There's a large active shrimp fleet similar to Florida although not as we maintained. I'd save the space.
