VERY VERY WONDERFUL pics Richard. Next time you feel like posting pics DON'T HESITATE. Just DO IT

The lesser of all your pictures was at the end of hours of taking 7' head seas on the port quarter of our previous boat* ....an Albin 25. I'll always remember Boho Bay** ...fondly.

And thanks for telling us what all the pics were of.

Look at all the boats at Newcastle. It's hard to relate to so many boats from Alaska. Were they all on their own anchors?

Great shots, all of them. We've been to Princess Louisa numerous times in the Beaver but we've never been there by boat. We've debated doing it from time to time but that long slog up Jervis Inlet, which is boring enough at 110 mph in the air, would seem to be way more boring in an 8-knot boat o the water. So we've so far elected to go elsewhere (Gulf Islands, Desolation Sound, etc.). We've not been to Lesqueti but we've always thought of it as having fairly unprotected anchorages. Is this the case? Boho Bay looks nice enough in your photo.

*We only had 3 to 4' seas from Nanaimo to Boho, but it was still a relief to get there.* This was our first long trip, the first beyond the San Juans, and the first roughish water we had encountered in the boat.* The boat handled it well enough but we all agreed that flat calm was nicer.**

As for Newcastle, they installed a slew of mooring buoys in the park area this year and have banned any anchoring there, but anchoring is still allowed outside that.* In that photo the boats closest to the docks and then a bunch to the right out of shot are on buoys while the rest are at anchor.* The buoys are marked with maximum size which varied from 9 to 12 meters.* We used the reasonably priced public dock for a couple of nights...listening to a blues festival clearly heard across the water from Nanaimo proper.* Very cool!* Also a great place for the dog.

Aside from a little wind and one night with light drizzle, we had 3 solid weeks of amazing weather (for the PNW).* We timed it just right.* Just as we pulled into the locks at the end of the trip it started raining for the first time.

*Understand that I'm still very new at this and have no other experience of Lasqueti, but Boho Bay seemed well protected and certainly easy to enter.* It is deep in places though and the shoreline (steep or private) does not encourage excursions.* We took the dinghy over to Deep Bay at Jedediah for dog and people walks (10-15 minutes at most).

We were originally heading to Desolation but the wind wasn't cooperating so we made the decision while in Pender Harbor to do Louisa and then back for more time in the Gulf Islands instead.* Maybe next year for Desolation (when we aren't such wimps).* We had sun, great visibilty for the surrounding scenary, with the occasional cloud formations just making it more spectacular, and found the trips up and down Jervis quite enjoyable, but I could see how it would be a drag in poorer weather.* We also stayed at Louisa for 3 nights, which made it more worthwhile.
