Its now Happy Hour on ASD,

Cheers all, we wish you were here!

Weather permitting, Tuesday we leave early and non stop to Ketchikan.

Doable......80 miles. Hope you have good conditions. The Dundas Islands will give you some cover from most winds and swells for a while....that will help. We always have a shot of gin when we get to the other side. Same with Cape Caution. :thumb:

Don't encourage them!!!:banghead: I may have to deal with them if I am not outbound as they are inbound to Ketchikan tomorrow:thumb:. As I said earlier- may have to schedule a AA meeting on arrival.:D

I have no idea what an AA meeting would do for us!

Tom /Chief--- Looking more like Wed. for this little boat to challenge Clarence. Give me a cell phone# Mine is 907 617-0710.

Al, I won't even admit you know us! We could lead you down the wrong path!!!

Hope to see you my friend while we are in Ketch...

Here is my Canadian weather site that I swear by. Trust it and back it up with Windyty

Dixon Entrance East - North Coast - Environment Canada

As you can see, the Wed. forecast which is the day I want to jump is now giving me second thoughts. North West 25-35 is way, way more than this Mother's little boy wants to play boat in. It will be sunny but windy.

Day to day, so for sure. I started asking some of the "Old" Girls of the "Line" if they wanted to cheer you both into town, when they heard that part of the crew was ex-Navy the party went down hill. Confirmation of that is the following article. Food over booze. One old Master Chief still recalls, Old Crusty may know the Barnacle Back

So I figured it out! AA meeting is code for Alaskan Amber party. Right?

Leaving PR Alaska here we come! Ketch in 12 hours.

Dixon Entrance East is supposed to get to 35 knots this afternoon. Was it jumpy out there?

I would say a little more than lumpy. Here's a veow up Revillagigedo Channel.

Oh, Man.....Lumpy is kinda lame. The Admiral did not enjoy that trip.

3 weather apps, and we still got it wrong. 6 footers (or more) at 4-5 seconds made for a long day.

After coming around Dundas Island the slop started and got worse. I headed for the lee side (east side) of Duke as the swell and wind waves were from the west. We estimate the wind was 30 plus knots. Once we made it to the bottom of Duke Island I turned due North and the ride was much better. ASD continued up the west side of Misty Fiords, Tacking as he made headway slowly but surely.
We have now tied up in Ketchikan and will probably spend the next few days recuperating, fixing broke stuff, provisioning and maybe play "Tourista's".

Oh ya, and Ketchikan Al was on the dock to greet us.
Thanks Al for the AA gift!
