Frontier shipping in Ketchikan will take delivery of packages and hold them for you. The charge is something like $1 per package. I have used them a number of times. Very convenient.

The 'Boys' have dropped off my AIS [free] app. Their Nemesis, 'Morning Star' is in Rupert with its AIS on. a 'Puffer' taking the lead???

North Hecate Strait is due for a full gale beginning Saturday night. This will make the approach to Prince Rupert pretty dicey for Sunday and Monday. Does ASD have a suitably sized Fortress on a rope - chain rode for hand deployment?

Hopefully they can make PR before Saturday evening. Windlass repairs could be accomplished in PR most likely. There are a few interesting choices arising.

Coming out of Grenville channel to Prince Rupert should be doable with the corner at the top the most exposed. At the rate they were traveling, making Prince Rupert should be a snap. Then they will have time to explore the anchor issue. Trying to think of a shop here for Crusty if the need be. We are tight for machine shops at the moment.

After the Pruth Bay dust-up with Morning Star, it will be interesting when they cross paths the next few months.

There is a descent marine supply place in Rupert a short walk from Cow Bay Marine (the new marina). I don't recall the name, but ask Robin who runs the marina and he will guide you.

And treat yourself to dinner at the Cow Bay Cafe right next to Robin's office. Reservation required, and excellent food.

To add to Twistedtree's and Murray's comment, the Prince Rupert harbor management people with office located next to the CG office at Fairview are very sharp and helpful. So are the commercial guys at the various marinas including Fairview.

But, ASD can easily make Ketchikan from PR if weather OK so no windlass needed. As I mentioned earlier there are some interesting choices. ASD's skipper is very resourceful and he will figure it out. Fun to see how it all works out.

If it's the relay, then the choices are pretty broad. The same relay is used on truck and ATV winches. I have two on board in Sitka.

The plan is stay at Cow Bay till Monday or Tuesday. The weather doesn't look favorable tonight or Sunday.
We are almost out of the Trench, should make PR by 3 this afternoon. Ready for a nice meal.

Cheers

Should be in PR by 2:30. Crusty's part is shipping to Ketch. Looks like we will be crossing Dixon Entrance on Tuesday. Yes we ran into Morning Star this morning, again. Pleasant conversation. Here is a pic of Pairadice in the Ditch.[ATTACH]

Tom- my float plan has me departing for Wrangell Tuesday after a early morning Dr.appt. weather permitting of course. If we do not meet prior, will keep an eye out for you along the way or on your return.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions and shipping options.

We have a new Relay on the way to Ketchikan. It might be there on Monday. We probably wont get into Ketch until Tuesday, weather permitting.

Very pleasant trip up today, and now that we are tied up to the dock here at Cow Bay, the wind has already picked up.

Pics to follow.

Along with others, do not deprive your selves of a meal of [I suggest] fish (halibut) and chips onat 'Smileys' in Cow Alley.
The casino also serves very tasty meals in quantum amounts!!
