Ocean Marine

Hi, is there anyone out there with an "Ocean Marine" trawler yacht (no other "lesser" brands need reply!)?

I* know that Ocean Marine became Ocean Alexander - so only interested in yachts built before the change of name.* Does anyone have an official badge/logo for Ocean Marine?

Ours was built in 1979/80 and is a 38' and lives on the South Coast in the UK.

RE: Ocean Marine

If you have not already done so you might try an Ocean Alexander owners forum if there is such a thing. Someone there might know the history of the make prior to the changeover to Ocean Alexander. For starters you could try http://www.yachtforums.com/forums/oc...nder-yacht-52/. Don't know anything about this forum but it's what came up on Google.

Ocean Alexander oldies

I have had a '79 Ocean (that is the name at the yard at the time the boat was built (a story here)).

I notice in your picture that your boat is much lower in the water than mine. Is yours a twin engine? I do not have the slope forward problem until I have used up some water. I suspect your keel may be full of water. This is not a bad thing, it adds to initial stability but the boat is heavier.
My boat is 40000 lbs. actual measurement on the lift.

Google the Ocean Alexander web site. There's a short history under the "OA Advantage " tab. And you can contact them via the "Contact" tab. I've had good luck with getting answers...one from Johnny Chueh, the founder's son. (Try that with most other brands). I also heard a while back from the Seattle dealer that a book documenting the history of the company is in the works. Might already be published.
