Ocean Marine

Hi, is there anyone out there with an "Ocean Marine" trawler yacht (no other "lesser" brands need reply!)?

I* know that Ocean Marine became Ocean Alexander - so only interested in yachts built before the change of name.* Does anyone have an official badge/logo for Ocean Marine?

Ours was built in 1979/80 and is a 38' and lives on the South Coast in the UK.

RE: Ocean Marine

If you have not already done so you might try an Ocean Alexander owners forum if there is such a thing. Someone there might know the history of the make prior to the changeover to Ocean Alexander. For starters you could try Don't know anything about this forum but it's what came up on Google.

Ocean Alexander oldies

I have had a '79 Ocean (that is the name at the yard at the time the boat was built (a story here)).

I notice in your picture that your boat is much lower in the water than mine. Is yours a twin engine? I do not have the slope forward problem until I have used up some water. I suspect your keel may be full of water. This is not a bad thing, it adds to initial stability but the boat is heavier.
My boat is 40000 lbs. actual measurement on the lift.

Google the Ocean Alexander web site. There's a short history under the "OA Advantage " tab. And you can contact them via the "Contact" tab. I've had good luck with getting from Johnny Chueh, the founder's son. (Try that with most other brands). I also heard a while back from the Seattle dealer that a book documenting the history of the company is in the works. Might already be published.
