Yeah, unfortunately the vessel isn't being loved enough from the looks of things. Lots of old boats, of all descriptions, that are bought cheap by someone with more imagination than money/time/knowledge. They end up slowing rusting/rotting away in some out of the way spot.

However, I don't know the story of that one.

I love the sloughs.
Lived in a houseboat (on logs) at the outlet to Ebey Slough (Priest Point) when I went to college in the late 60's. Running up and down the sloughs w mostly outboards was my boating world then. Moored my outboards at Union Slough (Seacrest Boat Moorage) until the houseboat.
We cruised the Snohomish R., Ebey Slough and Steamboat Slough w our 25' Albin and then the Willard about 12 - 15 years ago. Willard did'nt pass under some bridges but otherwise was fine w her 3'6" draft.
Sorta lost interest in the sloughs when the jet skis showed up.

Did a little sleuthing on Acania. Tycoon in the 20's built two of them in New York. Sistership restored and in the Bay area, I think. Amazing number of liveaboards up there, mostly appear wood and haven't left the dock in decades. Couple dining on the aft deck of one old tug that looked like you could stick your finger right through the hull.
The second pic appears to be a sailboat, likely a fast one by what's sticking out of the water. One of the few apparently fiberglass boats that I saw.

The Acania is for sale, $75,000. Here: 1929 Pusey & Jones Classic Steel Fantail, everett Washington - boats.com
The vessel has been for sale for years. Some pictures of what she did look like. I think Detroit 6-110s.

Picture 29 is of a tug here in the area called the F. L. Fulton, (Briana Marin now) she too was for sale recently, might still be. The Acania is a beautiful boat or was back in the day.

Little late to this party, fascinating boat. The price has been dropped to $49K but still not something I would want to take on. The time, money and effort it would take to restore that beauty is way outside my envelope. But you got to admit, even in her current shape, she has some beautiful lines.

What a beautiful boat (when in great condition). Being repowered helps, but still a lot of time and money required to restore to her former glory and beauty. Really a shame.

The main reason boats moore in the slough is not bring able to get insurance require by the marina. A lady bought it to be her art studio.

Great surgeon fishing in the slough. At low tide they get caught in the shallow water. Minimum legal is 6 ft. They don't fight much the hardest is getting them in the boat. They lay on the bottom and most think they are sunken logs. A good friend kept his boat at Getty marine on the slough so to get from Everett we took the slough.
