Waterford Tugboat Roundup 2013

This website of the annual Waterford Tugboat Roundup comes courtesy of Fred on TUG 44 (an American Tug 34). He is a veteran expert of the Hudson/Champlain Rivers and NY Canal System, and a wonderful and notoriously colorful Captain. I met him during our 20 day stay at Waterford waiting for the flood damage to the dams in the Erie Canal to be repaired. He posts a number of great pictures and videos of classic and reproduction tugs in action.

Very nice, I like tugboats and used to go see the annual tugboat races on the Detroit river when I lived in the Windsor area.

Wow....what a great show of regional boat history. I have this on my list of celebrations to attend "some day".

IT would be a great learning experience to observe the tugs dock and un dock.

No bow thrusters , no stern thrusters , just a BIG prop and the ability to pop the stern as required.
