Ditto.

Cardude. Can your head handle 30 plus participants full of beer and other drink combined with good food?

Ha! It cannot!

I have some reservations about this event. Specifically, I have reservations for Sylphide and I to be there from the 20th till the 23rd. I have no idea if we'll actually make it there by then, but here's to hoping. I'll try to arrive with a well stocked cooler at an acceptable temperature, empty black water tanks, and with my boat shoes under lock and key. Anyone who wants to make their shiny paint and gleaming brightwork stand out is welcome to use my lack of both for contrast.

Dave, glad to hear you're coming. It took me about 2 weeks underway from Crisfield, MD to Fort Pierce, FL at 7 knots in February 2016. Temperature can be a powerful motivator. It's about 950 nautical miles.

You'll make it! I'll come up and help if it looks like you won't be in time.

Dave, we might have reservations about you. :)

It will be fun if nothing else. Be prepared for A&O and F&G.

Is she indicating that with the time already elapsed and with three months before the gathering they still have no plans to have pump outs available? They're going to go through their entire peak season without.

No, but with construction scheduled to be finished in the spring it’s a good bet that it won’t be operating.

I imagine when I get back to Annapolis after the first of January, Temperature will most certainly be a solid motivation. It might be an ice breaking venture, lol.

Well now that would be an adventure, wouldn't it? lol.

I don't know, the weight of yours and Dave's tickets could tip the boat over.

Ted

Maybe that's what happened to that car carrier Steve's working on...:ermm:

A&O and F&G

My dad used that expression every morning while in the Bahamas: Adventure & Opportunity and Fun & Games. He was an optimist and character but I think that saying fits in my life daily.

This gathering gets bigger every year and more fun.

Senor RT. Very similar, close your eyes and you can’t tell the difference. :)

.

I just spent the night on the Dude’s boat over in Stuart, and I can testify that the composting toilet in question has a pee pot capacity of exactly two 12 oz. rum & cokes, one 16 oz beer and a V8!

Senor RT. Don't let the bondage collar confuse you, it’s only for show. You’ll enjoy it eventually.

Larry are you sayin 30 revelers are in trouble (I guess the dude is really in trouble). :)

Well, there’s always the hot tub.

Dave, Norfolk is one long to two days of cruising from Annapolis depending on how you catch the tidal current. Once you clear the Alligator river bridge (2nd day out of Norfolk) ice issues and bridge freezing closed are over. Your next bridge that requires opening, will be below Morehead city. Water temperatures below Norfolk in the beginning of January should be above 40 degrees.

Ted

Ted I haven’t been on your site, myslowhand.com. Is that a porn site?

No. It's a pouring site, with other distractions.

Sorry, not sorry. Had to go there.

Looking forward to the gather.

Glad to be here, for a while

Thanks for the call out, Kestrel. We have been her a few days and are getting the parts organised for some minor work that I need to do or have done.
Stop by and see us. We have both coffee and rum.
We are getting a set of davits built for the new to us center console dinghy, replacing the failed searchlight and tachs, then onto maintenence issues, oil changes, heat exchanger service, new impellers, change all fuel filters, etc, etc.
Sometime in December we do bottom paint, buff and wax the hull, etc, then go cruising for Jan and February.
Looking forward to seeing everyone in February.

John sounds like your going to challenge Ted for the pristine boat st the gathering. Good luck. :)

No, not at all. I am just trying to get it up to a workboat level of finish and cleanliness. :)

I saw John’s boat about a week ago. He seems to be coming along nicely with the work.

On another note, we are coming up on mid-January. If you haven’t made reservations at the marina do so. The marina is filling up.

Just. A word to the wise.

I for one am looking forward to seeing everyone.

Don, as you are the major doom of this gathering I fully look forward to see who has aged most me or you. Thanks for all you do brother, can’t wait for February. Watfa is in the major planning mode for our dinner, I’m sworn to secrecy but you’ll all enjoy it and many may have never eaten these dishes before. (No seafood in deference to Wendy)

Pretty soon I’ll ask for a count for the dinner so we can plan the groceries, booze, ect. We may have to have a cut off number around 30 as the boat’s galley is limited.

Just cause Don attracts all the women, doesn't mean he is the major "doom" of the gathering... :)

If dinner numbers get to big "and I know it wouldn't be fair to Watfa.... the "late comers" could be fed by alternate means/location so we don't interrupt the party too bad....so let me know if we need a secondary list.

The Captains lounge may be available....

Scott, my bad, spell check got my ass again. Major Domo, not doom.

BTW you can’t get out of the dinner, Watfa already has your wine. You got to eat with us. :)
