Does anyone know of a motel, room or condo for rent close by? Just won't be able to boat there, but would like to fly over for a few days.

We have stayed at the Dockside Inn and Resort and also Hutchison Island Inn. Both are very simlar and quite basic...a slight nod goes to Dockside since it is across the parking lot from a little Bar and Grill on the water..."On the Edge" I think is the name of the place. Both hotels are on the water and offer waterfront rooms.

OK, guys it's crunch time at the marina. Ann at the marina says she needs slip reservations by Monday, January 7th in order to guarantee slip space. February is one of the busiest months at Fort Pierce City Marina.

ATTENTION: Beware of cross currents in the approach channel to the marina. Also, there has been some shoaling, and the channel will be marked with very small floating markers which can be hard to see. Use caution, and watch your depth. The marina hopes to have the channel dredged and new larger markers in place before our gathering. However, that is not guaranteed.

Check in time is 11:00 am or after. The marina would like you to give them an approximate ETA. If travelling with a buddy boat, they would like you to come into the harbor one at a time with at least 5 minutes between boats.

Hope to see you in February.

Hi Don

Thanks for taking care of this herding of the cats and Larry too. My reservations are made and I was able to bribe the Dockmaster to move Ted’s Dock a few hundred yards away so now Scott can be with the rest of us. Watfa has her meals planned we just need an approximate count of those coming to dinner in February.

Looking forward to this great gathering of like minded people, a highlight of our boating year.

Sure wish I could make it this year but the stars haven't aligned in my favor so I'll have to hold out until next year.

I'll miss the gathering but will toast you from afar.

Cheers from Sunny California!

Al, I've been waiting to hear from you. It's really a bummer that you will not be there. Maybe you can send Meg. We all wish you the best, buddy.

Jack sent a message awhile back that he will be at sea. It won't be the same without you two guys.

What? Al and Steve won’t be there? We’ll at least the IPAs and PBRs are safe.

Lena has reminded me that the kick off happy hour will be on Hobo, Friday the 22nd. We have the apps, mixers, beer and wine covered, just show up. There are lots of dinner options later. The last few years, some of us walked to Tillman’s Barbacue. The foods good with outdoor seating and local beers on tap.

See y’all soon!

Why don't you come to the gathering and point us in the right direction. I think most of us guys would be happy to follow your shapely lead.

Ted

That's unfortunate. What will I do with all those IPAs?

And who left you in charge of opinion?

I have eaten in most every place within walking and short drive radius of the marina...and I disagree. Some are good, most mediocre for the price. The BBQ joint is perfect for what it is and most rpeople I know agree.

The best seafood I eat is NEVER in a restaurant and what is served is rarely worth what they charge....would rather have a good Reuben in a dive bar.

And as Ted said, come show us how its done.

The best food in Fort Pierce is what Watfa serves on their boat.

Watfa does a good job, just look at me.

Al and Steve (Jack) won’t be there. Will they be in a 1970s room somewhere celebrating? Too bad that a quality member won’t be able to attend (yeah, done on purpose- you decide to who the reference is directed out of the three). LMAO

Got to agree with Scott, we can stumble over the the barbecue joint which is pretty good and gets better with the drinking. Lots of good eating in the town.

Everybody show up Watfa needs to keep busy and off my case. . Looking forward to a good time as always.

Wendy and I will be there. That is still not guaranteed as I do not have my schedule for next month yet...but it should not be an issue.

Wifey B: As long as it's not the sources that like the food at Coinjock.

Interesting but part of the draw is the wealth of info from some of the great minds on TF, sitting around with an adult beverage and asking questions without the stigma of being printed on the forum is a huge plus.

Baker is coming so add a few more bottles of Flor de Cana.

WifeyB it’s been many years since Coinjock but areyou say there is no amount of booze to make that steak edible?

I was holding off until after the holidays to know for sure. I'll be back at "The Fort" in 2020 if you guys don't get us all banned from the marina.

I sure hope there will be others to do some of the heavy lifting. Jack and I can't be expected to do ALL the hard work!

TBH, really wish I was coming. Hope you're all still able to have fun without the Taj Mahal Gang. (I still cringe when I think of that AirBnB! )
