Al and Baker before they were REALLY drunk. The ladies flock (yes, that’s the proper spelling) to Don. The one advantage to getting old, everyone thinks your safe. LOL

A good time was had by all on Don’s boat for pizza and beer night. Tonight it’s the hard stuff and Larry will not be allowed to have any glass bottles in his hand. Sippy cups for the girls.

The final party ... a wonderful spread put on by Watfa and Irv on their beautiful boat Gotcha. Thanks for being such great hosts.

Pure spin from TF Minister of Propaganda Jack/Steve (aka SoF). Certain monies changed hands and certain officials looked the other way. I’m told the salvors should be finished with Gotcha later this afternoon. (I think SoF gets a cut.)

Now this part is all true. The hosts/hostesses could not have been more welcoming. The boat tours left most of us salivating and the anecdotes, advice and sharing of experiences were simply the best.

Thanks all.

It was a fun time, the boat will recover I’m not so sure about Watfa. Thanks to all for coming.

Highlights of the party is that Steve and Parker finally met. Ted is really a funny guy and really opened up, great sense of humor. Scott is the same drunk or sober. Homo has owners that are a perfect match, Larry drops a beer on the dock near Don’s and Lena drops a glass of red wine on our teak deck (runs in the family). Everyone got a prize or two even if they didn’t want it. Al got the long distance award but there was a protest as he didn’t come by boat. It was nice putting a face to TF posts we have been reading. Next year more have to come as it has grown every year.

A special thanks to Ladies Man Don and Lou and Larry (who gives more of himself to others than anyone I have ever known) and Lena for organizing this terrific outing. Everyone sincerely appreciates your efforts.

Already looking forward to next year

It was an epic event! Irv, how many did you have aboard Friday night? Your ship sure handles a large group of revelers very well. And the hospitality shown by Watfa and you was tops! Thanks so much for hosting all of us, the incredible dinner and drinks and the fun gift drawing. Jack and I were back at the Taj Mahal and both used our led switch lights within 5 minutes! I found it serendipitous that Moonstruck won the 2000 gph bilge pump on the day his dripless shaft log sprung a leak. Glad he got it fixed fast.

As noted by the others, Larry/Lena and Don/Lou deserve kudos and badges of courage for allowing us to enjoy their fine vessels like we did! I was so impressed by the caliber of the boats. And Ted's sLow Hand shows his forethought and attention to detail. Incredible vessels one and all.

I didn't know what I'd find in meeting all these imaginary friends. What I learned was that each and every one is a person I'm proud to call real friends. Top caliber folks who project an online persona just like their real personality. No fakes or wannabes here. Cheers to one and all!

Al

According to the cook there were 22 from the TF and one crasher. We are doing it again tonight for those that are still here of course the amount of booze that will be consumed will be quite a bit less now that the California contingent has left.

Wifey B: Bye bye. So you leading all the snowbirds back north? Didn't that mole like creature weather predictor tell you a lot of winter left still? Better not go too far too fast or you'll get cold.

Some more photos of the Ft. Pierce week

(from port to stbd) Jack/Sailor of Fortune, Ian/Angus99, Al/FlyWright and Ted/OC Diver went to the US Navy Seal Museum in FP. This is the actual Maersk Alabama lifeboat,

I was told by the guys that I won the drawing and had to do the obstacle course. Somehow I was absent for the balloting. No Photoshop here....this is actually me on the ropes course as Jack keeps asking for more pics! (no photographic evidence of me completing the rest of the obstacle course ) Yes...that's Jack's size XXXXL finger.

Friday night party pics aboard Gotcha:

Allan/Labomba, Jack/SoF, Dick/Courage (no posts on TF yet), and Ian/Angus99

Larry M, Baker, Marjorie (Scott/Psneeld's better half), Marie (David Rive's better half)

Some more revelers with Don/Moonstruck whose names escape me at the moment.

Don/Moonstruck winning the grand prize 2000 GPH bilge pump...on the day his boat sprung a leak! (Honest, the drawing was not rigged!)

I was teasing The Don about his boat becoming a dock queen after he had to cancel my fast boat ride on Friday. I picked up several tiaras for the Queen of TF...2 of which Don found immediately upon his return to the boat at the helm. There's more, but he's still looking...

Don presented me with the prize for being the longest distance traveler for this year's festivities with a very comfortable Moonstruck shirt. "Well, slap my ass and call me Moonstruck!!!" I had to get a pic with The Don's Lovely Lou.

I regret not getting pics of so many of our TF regulars and SOs like Lena of Hobo fame, Irv/Bigsfish of Gotcha fame, Scott/Psneeld of Freedom fame and many, many others. Hopefully others have pics to share.

I'm already making plans for next year's 4th Annual Trawler Forum International Rendezvous (ATFIR). We need to agree on dates so my calendar is reserved for the trip. Cheers and a huge THANKS to all who provided such great hospitality, food and proactive thirst prevention measures.

Here are a few more. Sorry I can’t put the description under each photo.

In order, they are:

—Moonstruck, my abode for three wonderful nights (thank you Don and Lou);
—Gotcha, with Don up top attempting to sneak her out of the marina;
—Slow Hand, Ted’s incredible refit/restoration;
—Hobo, Larry and Lena’s lovely home by moonlight;
—Dave Rive, trying to talk the guys into visiting a tattoo parlor;
—Don, grilling Al about certain “adornments” that we’re found on Moonstruck;
—City of Fort Pierce Marina before the TF horde descended;
—City of Fort Pierce Marina Saturday morning
