I was going to ask this in my other thread, but it went a little off track lol.

For my Chesapeake Bay friends, what do you think about Bluewater Yachts and their ability to cruise the bay? The draft is shallow, but they seem a little more stout than a normal house boat. Most of them have marine small block 350s, so I'm not worried about working on them.

There's a few that are available in my area that are at a pretty good price (compared to diesel trawlers of the same year and shape)

I'm looking to do some over nights up some rivers, anchoring in coves and make trips to Baltimore and Annapolis. I know I would have to keep an eye on the weather, I know the bay can get nasty, but I'm not trying to make trips when the swell is 1ft or less!

We have one at our Marina very odd looking on the outside the inside is very nice

had a tour of it and thought this one had Volvos

Always thought it was they are named bluewater yachts

Yes it is a very odd hull, but I've been on one and they have a good.amount of room. Great for 2 kids and 2 Bulldogs on a weekend getaway!

Pointy houseboats and I love them for semi protected waters. You've stated your awareness of their limitations so if you can live with that I'd go for it.

Pick your weather and you can do the Loop in it too.

Have a friend that owns one. Very commodious but definitely a fair weather boat.

I own a 45 and really enjoy it. Has large amount of room in cabin and on sundeck. We travel from Louisiana to Florida with no trouble and the right conditions

86 PM if I may answer any questions

Thanks for the info. Kartracer I'll shoot you a PM for sure if I have any questions.
