Hi Cees,
Thank you for your effort to help us.
After the hurricane season, I intend to sail, trolling and visiting the Caribbean islands to Trinidad. Perhaps not bring the boat to Brazil yet.
That region is very beautiful to pass so quickly.

I saw that cruising at 6.0/6.5 knots, we burned about 3/4 gal/hour.
I'm not sure if we cruise at 5.0 knots we'll burn just 1 gal/hr.
I'll check. I never thought to cruise so long distance directly.
I have to change my bladder tank that can fit about 150 gal.

Yesterday I navegated a little beat in my schooner that has a very small engine(56hp) and I tried to cruise at 6 knots and she burned about 1,5 gal/hr. I cant believe that my trawler that weight 6 times more and has 2 engines 10 times more HP each one could burn just 1 gal/hr

Regardless of the engine size , it is the boats weight and speed that determines the HP required.

Probably 6 1/2 - 7K will be your long range cruise, and IF you can set up to cruise with one engine underway it might be worth the effort.

Next 20th I'll go to Luperon to find a short circuit that is draining all of my batteries.
I'm buying 4 new batteries (6V/235Ah) in Dominican Republic by US$ 120 each one. Somebody knows if it's a good price?

If somebody wants to come here or if needs to leave the boat here, stay in Marina Puerto Blanco, call Freddy, the owner and 15 (quinze) a guy to take care of the boat.

Hi Larry,
I already turn back home.
I forgot that my dingy was on the top for 4 months, rained a lot and got water between the floor and the bottom and my davit broke.
I have a guy that takes care of my boat and if you need something, I can ask him.

Hi Cees,

I just arrive from Luperon and fixed a lot of things, next week the people there will paint the bottom and she's ready to go. I intend to navigate in the middle of November. I intend to arrive at Trinidad in the end of December. Do you like to come with us to make the north if South America and Brazil?

That time when I arrived in Luperon to see the boat, the "15", guy hired to look after the boat, was drunk. I found the dirty boat, engines and generator with air, dirty bathroom, I was disappointed.
fired "15" and hired Andy, a former boxer who now takes good care of the boat.
In November I'll go to Trinidad

Finally we exited from Luperon to Samana destination. After being robbed of nearly $ 2,000, an electrician from Luperon made a conection that my alternators not charged my batteries Service and our trip was hard, arriving at Samana with just one motor and one small GPS.
