Gene - great little ship. I have a question regarding the power train - are the "dual engines" coupled to one shaft and if so how do you regulate the speed of the engines so that they are both turning at the same Rpm's ??
Good luck on the restoration.

RE: Rivets

Yes they are coupled to one shaft at 6:1 reduction. This is to match the original steam engine RPM at the prop.

She uses an LCM (Landing Craft) drivetrain. The Falk combiner transmission has one output with two inputs, a sort of double bell housing.* It locks the engines together when engaged, keeping the RPM in synch. The throttles are also locked together with adjustment for synchronizing to keep the loading of each engine in synch.

Everything can be unlocked for individual operation as well.
