Ahoy there meaty! How'd the procedure go? It was a head transplant, right? Wait, no, you were being converted to dry stack exhaust? Hang on, I remember now, you were having your impellers replaced. That's it, isn't it? I get confused. Anyhow, I hope you're happy and healthy!

Back into the swing of things with compounding and polishing the transom and transom wings.

All good mate thanks for checking up :). 17kgs down so far

Good to see you're back in the swing.

Do you have a note from your doctor allowing you work?
Or did he say, "All things in moderation except sex and old age will take care of that part."

Finished polishing the transom, transom wings and transom door. Then fitted a spring loaded door stop/latch. Pretty stoked.

Wayfarer,

Did you say Meaty? That’s what he’s trying to avoid! lol!

Y’know, that’s a valid point... lol. Sounds like it’s working! Soon he’ll be so light and lithe that we’ll have to tie him down so he doesn’t float away like a balloon.

Wayfarer,

Did you say Meaty?..
Good try at putting the Aussie accent in words! Even a touch of pirate:"Arrrr meatey...how`s it hanging..."(Google not impressed at all).

Yo Matt me Mate - So happy to hear you're doing well!

We were just out of wifi and electricity for three days... along with a couple million more residents in CA USA! Huge forest fires and all that. Thought maybe I'd missed something. Thanks for more photos. Keep on keeping on!!

This afternoon I sanded the epoxy primer on the aft cockpit door frame, taped up and shot some gloss black. The doors are satin and the frame now gloss should look Hollywood!

What brand paint are ya using?? Looking forward to seeing doors and frame unveiled!

Jotun imperite 300 topcoat on top of epoxy primer. The doors are anodised

TY

First I noticed " It’s a Hendo and Flic"!! "Displacement Special"!! Cool!!

Took the masking off the frame I sprayed last Friday. I think the gloss and satin look good together. After that I machine polished the glass and fitted the door stop.

Not much to see in this pic but I fitted the weather strip to the door then put the heavy polishing pad on the rotary machine and started finishing the white off and removing any stray overspray that got under the covers. Should have this area all squared away and black plastic up by the end of the week so as to keep it clean while I start to shoot black two pac around the side and fwd windscreens in a couple of weeks time.

SIGH
Once you get the outside all done, you have another season to get the inside done?

Time has always been an elusive factor. There's day time, night time, day light savings time, time to get going, time to ponder, time for fun, time for love and of course, there's always more time!

Then... there's "Matt Time" the most elusive category of time I've yet encountered. Matt Time seems to suddenly start from nowhere and actually "Make Time" happen as things go along. I don't think there is a ticking clock on Matt Time... but rather wonderful joy of creation sequences that appear in Due Time.

I believe in Matt Time, stand by Matt Time, love vicariously experiencing Matt Time and will surely be excited when Matt decides it is Time for SOLSTICE to reach Splash Time!

Get It On Matt... and... Enjoy every instance of your beautiful creation!

Cracked on with the polishing and finished the starboard side of the aft cockpit. I then taped up to repaint the nonskid and then once that was done I moved on to the Portside and began polishing that.

Thanks Art.

My brother is working on a steel hull sailboat and he is much on Matt's schedule. I tell him every year that that where he started will rust away before he ever finishes. It's a work of art, as is the Solstice. Some men are blessed with patients others not so much. I'm young so I don't plan on taking a dirt nap before either project is finished, carry on Brother Matt....Carry on...
