Well the hot water system is plumbed in. Just need to top up the Engine coolant and then hardwire the heating element and she’s done. One more task closer to the July launch ...

Bit of an early finish at the boat today. I finished off the battery bank wiring, I fitted a stainless steel elbow and hose fitting to the 1 1/2” ball valve that will be the toilet sump extraction point. I had planned to do the 3/4” toilet ball valve for the sea water intake too but buggered up the sizes on the socket so couldn’t fit it. Need to go back tomorrow and sort that. After that I started sanding the wardrobe and then decided to pull the pin after the big day yesterday.

Little side note. When I got to the boat today I noticed there was a lump in the tarp floor. I pressed around with my foot and the lump moved so I gave it a little kick and it made a noise. I cut a hole in the tarp and well the last couple of pics will show you what I found.

Kept ducks as a kid. Mum looks like a Muscovy, should be able to look after the kids. She`s been there a while, nesting, laying, and now hatching.

This afternoon I finished fitting off the toilet saltwater intake and discharge ball value hose fittings then did some internal sanding of door, window frames and the wardrobe with my mate mike then we packed away everything on the outside of the boat then gave her a bath and kicked off the beginning of getting her ready for painting in February. I was pretty happy with how fair she is in the reflection of the water. Can’t wait till there’s paint on her. She’ll look like a million bucks

Matt, the rubber mats in the bilge, do you think you might get any condensation under them, I would keep my eye on that after your launch. Everything looks tremendous, as always great work

SOLSTICE will craned on to a semi and trucked 49km (31 miles) to the water then picked up off the trailer and lowered in the water by the boat lifter.

I don’t have a plan for stability mate. It’s all a great unknown so I’ll just wing it like I have the whole build

Which brings to mind - You have ample insurance on/for her? Shat can happen... especially along a 30 plus mile hard-ground boat transport to her first splash. Suggestion... get a pliable boat appraiser to place a tall value on her nose. Then shop ins companies. You probably already have done that. Matter of fact seems I might recall you had mentioned insurance on a post some time ago.

Well what a disastrous afternoon ‘‘twas had at HMAS HENDO. I only went down to clean up and tidy up some sanding that I wasn’t happy with on the dash trim and window sills and prep it for when I start painting the enamel next week. I thought I’d get rid of the paper I put down last year and lay some new pieces for when I paint again. It was at that point I discovered the vinyl was all mottled with a pinkish red colour. DEVO..!!! Looked like my dash had contracted meningococcal. I thought about a few options but decided to rip it all off. Not sure what to put there now. I’m a bit gun shy with using the same product. Anyway once I ground all the foam off I vacuumed up and did some sanding getting And touched up some of the primer ready for when I paint the enamel.
