Well to see the week out I finished off the seat by extending it 150mm (for my fat arse hey Art haha) then added a “pull through” cut out for when I do the trimming then thanks to a great suggestion from across the pond (Thanks again Swampu), I hinged the seat so when the boat is anchored I can flip up the seat and have full access to the kitchen bench. The back of the seat serves as an unexpected shelf too lol. After that I cut out another access hole for cables from the engine room to the back of the helm then I pulled the sub out and finished off fibreglassing the sub box and ran some cables. That’s it for this afternoon and this week. Back on Tuesday. Have MRI on Monday

Yes, great suggestion with the hinged seat. Now, you need to put a top on those open cabinets and raise the helm seat a little bit to accommodate the new cabinet tops.
You have gained LOTS of work space.
If you aren't careful, you might find enough room for another stateroom. LOL

Yep all in due course. Tops won’t go on until I’ve upholstered the walls and seats then the heights and fitment will be sorted. Everything is just in the testing stage atm

LOL, they will make him wear an 'open in the back gowns. They hell with modesty, let it all hang out.
Continued on with fitting the stereo in the boat this afternoon. I screwed the 6x9’s up to the ceiling to test fit them before I upholster the bulk heads. I’ve decided to paint the speaker covers to suit the surfaces they are fitted to. The outside will be white and the inside the tan colour. The amps are in opposite the 12v to 240v inverter and will continue wiring up to hopefully test the system later in the week before I finish trimming and painting the inside of the seat housing. Party boat sound system almost complete

How did your MIR go?
Water in the cove was all a ripple in its surface... like huge thunder clap just happened. Fish were dazed floating to the surface and seals had their flippers over their ears! Cops on a boat had their guns out and were looking every direction.

Good and bad. My back is bad but not as bad as I thought. Bulged disk and pinched nerve at L2. Waiting for referral to see spinal specialist to talk about options. Not interested in getting cut open. Everyone I spoke to wishes they hadn’t so hopefully there is something else that can be done. I’m sure it will improve when I stop building SOLSTICE and continue my weight loss.

Yea, I one of those minimally invasive operations on my back. Some sort of operation.... Some sort of never identified infection, max pain, out of work for almost a year.
I know of others who had operations, no problems at all. Whatever your decision is, I wish you well.
Might want to wait, if possible, until the boat is finished and in the water so you have a place to recover.

I've had back problems off and on throughout my 45 year career as masonry, concrete and tile contractor... due to lifting way too many and simply too weighty heavy items.
Found that laying flat on back with knees up and high heat [heating pad] applied to small of back for days/nights in a row can get me somewhat back into form. Then taking it really easy on lifting for months thereafter and continuing night time reduced-heat applications for recuperative weeks. Eventually my back again gets into really good condition... so what do I do???... I remember not to lift too heavy items for a couple or more years - until I forget and do lift too heavy, again - which can start the PAIN and recoup process all over again = Duh!!
My son had major back surgery on lower disks 20 years ago. He'd gotten so he could not stand uptight [at all] and my sequence of reparative actions were no assistance... again, simply too much heavy lifting. From an operation he became not as flexible but good to go in daily activities.
