Ok so I am about to embark on a reasonable size refit project.

Not sure about every MT34dc out there, but on mine the aft bunks are only about 5'10" long.

During the survey pre purchase, I checked out the possibility of extending the bunk into the Lazerete - which is possible - so now it is time to get stuck in and do it.

At the same time I will redo the lazerete storage, which at the moment is totally underutilized.

I will post photos of the job as it progresses.

If anyone has done this before, love to hear from you.

Cheers!

A little update.

Spent an hour on the boat this morning before work with the jigsaw rough cutting the hole for the bunk extension.

Started by drilling a few pilot holes from the inside, then cutting along these holes from the laz'.

Next is to clean up the edges with the router and a flush bearing cutter..... That's for tomorrow morning.

Another update.

Spent the day with the router, grinder and sander. Not fun as we all know!

Also had a nice time in the shop making the boxes that have become the bunk extensions.

It is dry fitted at the moment. Tomorrow I will take it all apart and coat the lot in epoxy.
