Removing Tile in the heads of a 48 CPMY

Has anyone ever tried to remove the 4"x4" tiles in the floor and the counter tops of the head on these boats? The Admiral and I would like to replace the flooring with something more practical. The grout is begining to crack on both the floor and counter tops. We have also just thought about covering over it all with something else. Any suggestions and ideas would be great. Thanks.

You could have the grout removed and replaced with new grout. Otherwise, like any tile job in a house. Lots of work to remove and then prep the surface for something else.

It won't be any different than in a house, just less tile.

Hammer and Chisel work.

Wear safety glasses and gloves. It'll go pretty quick.

Easy enough to have it regrouted.

If you elect to remove it replacing the probably plywood substrate would be easier than scraping off the old grout. If it is FG substrate you will be in for a lot of scraping.

Manufactured wood flooring is not thick and easy to install right over the tile if it is in a dry area.

Thanks everyone. Think we will give this some extra thought before we do anything.
