I have a 42 Californian and I repowered with perkins 6354 naturals so I've taken 100 hp out of my boat. My parents had the same engines in there calif. 38 and were happy with them. So far I'm pretty happy too I now get 3 miles to the gal. My question is does anyone have any idea what the gross tonnage is on a 1977 42. Reason being is I need new props. P.S great boats to anyone looking mine will be heading to southern Peru or northern Chile in the next couple of years. Thanks Martymar

Get it lifted and check the scale on the lift. Not always 100% accurate, but should give you a pretty good idea of the weight. Shouldn't cost too much to get lifted just for that purpose.
