we finally got rid of most of the black water smell! whew.Host of new issues popped up. The most distressing is inability to fill the aft fuel tank. I suspect a clogged vent line since it gurgled immediately when the tank was less than a quarter full. What is the best way to check this. I am planning to detach it and blow air through it. It was filled with no problem in Sept. Am I missing anything obvious here? Thanks for any help.

My 45' Californian had sags in the fuel fill hoses. A PITA to fill until I had the hoses pulled tighter. Nothing liquid will flow uphill without help.

The rear tank hose runs horizontally from the edge to the center of the boat. Miserable, and slow to fill.
Check your outer vent fitting for insects, mud,,,,,
I found that most of mine were plugged by mud daubers. I wetted them down and used a shop vac to suck thedebris out.

i took the cover off the input hose and put the shopvac over the vent and got out some dirty looking diesel and then was able to fill the tank -slowly
