Spent the afternoon getting provisions and tidying up last little details before we head out for the long weekend. Unfortunately the gale warnings will keep us tied up for the evening. I have instructed the admiral to pick up some extra olives as we will likely have a dockside martini party with our fellow dock mates.

At least it is not raining. Cheers, happy holiday to all.

You are on the boat. After that it doesn’t matter.

You are my kind of TFer. ;)

The worst day on a boat is better than the best day off the boat.

No bugs, a quiet marina and a view down the cove. No complaints.

Or cherries for the Manhattans, which are just martinis with more flavour.

Better to be on the dock wishing to be out on the water than out on the water wishing to be at the dock!

Lolly,

We left Deep River, CT on the Connectict River this morning at 7:00 am to beat the wind headed for Mystic Seaport. Boy are we glad we did, it howled all day. Tomorrow looks much better.

Happy hour on the dock was all the sweeter!

Rob

We like to go spend the night on the boat at the dock (it's only five blocks from our house) and pretend we are cruising! :D

Headed out early yesterday, nice and calm at Potters Cove. Wind picked up in the afternoon and blew us around the mooring all night, finally settled down early today which was nice and warm, finally. Nice and calm tonight with a good one on tap tomorrow. Hopefully this will start a trend of good weather.

Yes lets hope its a trend.
We made our 6 1/2 run from Portland to Mystic on Thursday after getting splashed in the morning.
It certainly howled on Friday.

We made it to Gloucester for the long weekend before the winds, but it sure did howl Saturday night, but by then we were snug on a mooring. We'd always wanted to visit and glad we got the chance.

If I “instructed” my admiral to get olives, it would be MY olives in the martini.
