App needs an exorcism

iPhone app has been getting buggy lately. Specifically it doubles and triples the post count on the "unread" screen. Screenshots below.

We don't even try the mobile app of this or other forums. We find it easier to read and post from the full site, even on a phone.

Same here. It would be nice if this site was Tapatalk compatible.

I would never make a site of mine Tapatalk compatible. Way too many security issues in their history.

I'm with BandB there, I must say. I hardly ever use the iPhone/Pad app. Rather use the browser any day. Hopefully someone in admin will respond and look into it though.

That is all great information gang that I'd have never thought of myself (he says dripping with sarcasm) but it does not in any way fix the problem with the app. Why don't we just see if tech support can perhaps push an update or in some other way address the bug report before we abandon something that has worked flawlessly for years...

Mine always shows 99+ but I'm not a frequent user.

Not abandoning as don't use. Even working right don't like it. Hopefully they will be able to address the changes you have seen.

By clicking the check mark at the top right you can reset that 99+ number to zero. I do exactly that after a few weeks absence from the forum, normally twice per year.

Same with me. Not any problem. I'm updating iOS every time when update available.

Fwiw mine stopped doing it too with no updates to either my phone or the app. Ghosts in the machine I suppose

No issues with mine. Have you tried swearing at it? I was going to suggest deleting the app and reinstalling, but it seems you've wizarded your way out of it!

Craig swears at everything.

Swear first - Ask questions later.

The tapatalk based app leaves a lot to be desired and there's not much we can do to trouble shoot it as it's provided by a 3rd party. The standard solution for app weirdness is to uninstall it, cycle your device off and on and then reload the app.

That said in the next few days we will be beta testing a new mobile browsing option that won't require a download and will be asking for feedback. The existing app will still be available but you might be willing to give this a try and offer your feedback.
