My bro had a beautiful wooden boat, one of the recreation of a Gar Wood boat.
I watched him pull away from the dock and put a big scratch in the boat. Each winter, he returned it to the builder and they would do all the maintenance including removing all the scratches. Alas he sold it when the move from the Plattsburgh. NY area to FL. After a number of strokes, he resides in the 'memory unit' of a retirement home and cant remember anything. I hope I dont go that way. I'd rather just wake up dead one day.

Stripper built. Beautiful job! I built a 16' cedar strip canoe some years ago, it makes a nice fairly light boat.

We built a cedar strip canoe a few years ago. Here is a link to Snapper’s photos of all our building projects.

The strips on this Skiff were 1/2” X 1” tongue and groove .

That's the truth. I'd be a nervous wreck putting her on a trailer. Nice work, Parks (...and Snapper). Must be a hoot to run!

Snapper doesn’t want to put it into salt water. I don’t know why not. It is Epifanes Varnish on top and Interlux Perfection on the bottom. The hardware is all good stainless.

Very nice strip built boat. Looking at her, she was done to plans. There was a company that made hoods for outboards to make them look like antique motors. That would look really sweet on her.

Plans source for those interested.

That’s it. Snapper made the interior quite a bit different, but the hull was built to the plans.
