We own KK3669 and have heard all sorts of stories about the Manatee's. I know 99 where built but why production stopped has always been a mystery. Also the 50 HP engine in the first Manatee's hurt sales even though the engineers calculated it was the right HP for the hull. And speaking of the hull it was a successful design that Krogen had used for a work boat design and it worked so well he used it for the Manatee's which I can say from cruising ours for 8 years is true, it's a great hull design.

Krogen stopped production because the Manatee's at $89,500 list price and larger saloon and cockpits made selling a 42 for a lot more money very difficult.
