Broken front window

Hi, I have a 1998 Grand Banks 42 broken center (opening) front window. Anyone have experience in DIY replacement of the glass?

Take it out by the hinges and take it to a glass shop. I have done them but if they see the entire thing, they can measure it and cut the correct laminated piece to fit.
