Roughwaters?

How many Roughwater boats are on here? I have a RW35 and it's currently in Seattle at the Canal Marina on the Freemont cut. Although I am out of the USA for a while. My son is enjoying the boat.

I am not sure how many are on there forum as the majority do not reply and many do that have information in the profile. I would say not more than ½ dozen. Also there were not that many RW sold and/or in existence. There is a RW site, http://groups.yahoo.com/group/RoughwaterBoats/ hosted by Jim Roberts in Tacoma, and at least a couple dozen in the PNW. Being the RW group is not very active, I have joined the CHB group, http://groups.yahoo.com/group/CHB/ as some of model the RW where built in the CHB yard and the other in the CWB yard.

The RW group use to be quite active as several of us members held gathering/events, but since we moved to Everett have not been active. Our 58 RW has very little in common, and there are only 5 left. The CHB has a couple of rendezvous each year. the basic construction of CHB and RW is basically the same.

I am impress that you brought your RW up the PNW coast, late September.

Hi Phil,

I'm on the yahoo site but yes there is not much activity there. That's OK. I wanted a Monk designed boat and though the history of RW was pretty cool.

We got lucky the journey north. The seas were calm the entire trip. The only problems we had were fog in Crescent City and the engine quit twice and air had to be bled. We were only 2 hours late coming through the Ballard Locks.
