When we were looking for our new boat, we had it narrowed down to the Camano, a Nordic Tug 32, and a GB32. All great boats, so the decision came down to a couple of personal preferences....like any major purpose. We choose the GB32 because of its walk around decks and the fact that it had a fly bridge. The side decks are indeed narrow but there's a full length handhold along the top so as long as you hold on with one hand the narrowness shouldn't be a problem. My wife has never said anything about it.
If it were ever necessary to get to the foredeck in rough seas, I would use the hatch in the berth rather than the side decks.
The Camano is certainly at the small end of the scale as far as trawlers go so the question is; Is it big enough for your intended use? For some, the answer is "yes", for others, it might be "no".
