Al Allen

I need to hear from 40' Willard owners if they use the steadying sail very often when cruising to keep their boat from rolling. I'm looking at a 40' that's had the mast and boom removed. What are your thoughts? Thank you!

Your name is really Al Allen?

Your parents must have quite a sense of humor.

At least he's giving the rest of us guys named Al a good name, unlike those on the news dragging our good name through the mud like al Qeada, al Jezeera, alzheimers, alopecia,...

I use my fore-and-aft sails occasionally, but the winds here are mostly from stem or stern rather than the beam. Here with the aft/mainsail:

Having both main and jib sails are more likely to have a significant effect from rolling than merely one.

I like it too. (Previous photo thanks to Giggitoni on our way to the Asparagus Fair in Stockton last year, and here is Ray's GB42.)
